Happy Halloween!October 31, 2011
Have you visited the Kooky Spooky Funhouse in Bearville™ yet? There are games you can play to win cool prizes for your online character, so check it out before it’s gone!
Lots of schools have fall parties where kids dress up in their costumes and do festive things like crafts with leaves and sometimes, like at my school, there is a hayride! We get on a trailer piled with hay bales and a tractor pulls us around in a field. It’s way more fun than it sounds!
What kind of activities do you look forward to at school in the fall?
Kooky Spooky Bear Bash!®October 26, 2011
This weekend you and your bear can come to a store dressed in your Halloween costumes and get a free Quaker Chewy® Smashbar™, plus a free virtual code for Bearville™! The virtual code is so super secret that I won’t even know what it’s for until I get mine!
What are you going to be for Halloween? This is such a fun holiday because you get to be so creative and use your imagination more than any other holiday! There are lots of do-it-yourself ideas online, so you could search for some with a grownup if you need ideas.
If you’re looking for me in Bearville this weekend, I’ll be dressed up like a bumble bee! But don’t worry, I’m the friendly kind!
Bee safe this weekend!
Spaghetti squash!October 24, 2011
Squash is a funny thing. Some people totally love it, but some people scrunch up their nose when you talk about it. I used to be a nose-scruncher until I learned how yummy it is and how many different kinds there are. Squash is usually a fall vegetable, even though there are some kinds that you can get early in the year, like zucchini and yellow squash. You’ve probably tried those and didn’t even realize that they were in the squash family!
My favorite is spaghetti squash. It’s yellow and oval, and you cut it in half and bake it. When you take it out, you scrape out the insides with a fork and it comes out looking just like spaghetti! I like to eat it with butter and parmesan cheese, but my parents eat it with red sauce like they’re eating real noodles! Ask your parents to try it sometime. It’s a really great afternoon snack, too!
